Here is an initial scan of the Roller Bearing AAR style truck for the SW 1500. These will be installed on the next release, the UP SW due shortly. I suspect sideframe components will be available in other colors so folks can convert the Walthers/Lifelike SW1200's as necessary. More later, just though you'd like a sneak peek. Note you will notice the brake assembly is does not extend out as far as the proto. Making them any longer would have interfered with the fuel tank and the end steps. Cheers Joe MTl
I think it looks great Joe. Just be sure you have your firesuit on when you post it to that other place...lmao !!!
Joe, I have got to give you props! It takes a lot of work to make changes like that, I'm glad to see MTL is so responsive to the concerns of it's customers. You don't see service like that from some of the big foreign based manufacturers. I am looking forward to getting a couple of these SW1500's. Thank you!
Sideframe basket will be available. Turn the engine upside down, pop off the sideframe assembly and plug ours in. should be easy enough for anyone to do it. Joe
I want some SW1500s, but every last one CSX owns has flexicoil trucks. Sources are three railroads: L&N, Conrail, and RF&P. And all of them had Flexicoil trucks. Hey Joe. When you finally do CSX, do the reverse sland loco- 1129
Which is shown as "now shipping" on the Digitrax website, as of 8/8 at 10AM Eastern when I checked... http://www.digitrax.com/news/2014/06/27/new-series-6-z-n-scale-decoders/
Just to clearify...the new side frame that went out on the UP engines this month is a replacement for the existing side frame basket. Not a full truck replacement. This will make it easy for folks to convert their existing Lifelike SW's with the upgraded truck sideframe. Also, we are working on the Flexicoil...both will be available as separate items for conversions at some point. Joe
