do you have any first hand experience with PECO code 55 3-way turnouts?

I recently purchased some PECO code 55 3-way turnouts.
Inserting them in a software plan for the potential model railroad, I was warned by one not to use them.
His reasoning was based on both (1) how un-prototypical they are, and (2) they would not work too well based on their complexity in terms of reliable service (i.e. be a constant cause of derailing and maintenance issues). In his thinking, which seems to make sense, is that the un-prototypical reality has to do with how in 1:1 scale they would be causes of both derailing and maintenance problems.

Does any one have 1st hand experience with the 1:160 N Scale PECO 3-ways? I have designed my passenger station throat using four (4) of them, two (2) on each side of the platform tracks.

I wanted to do some research here before deciding what to do with them.

    TIA for any replies.

    Best regards,
    Gary

I have one planned but not yet installed. The turnout appears comparable in complexity to the double slip switch. I use the double slip switch without exception and anticipate the three-way will work as well.

    Hi Gary
I'm using one in a switching yard and it works fine. We're talking slow speeds here. I'm planning to upgrade my staging and had considered using them there but the sharpish radius with higher speeds put me off and my plans now only include Peco long radius turnouts.
    Cheers, Ted

    sandro, will do!

Ted, they are in throat leading to platforms on each end of passenger terminal, which is where train would be slowing down for stop.
in addition, I prefer my trains running slowly...probably much slower that even prototypical speeds. never measured but I doubt they
ever run faster than 35-45 MPH on mainlines.

    thanks for your replies

    kind regards
    Gary

    Gary,
I have one installed in my yard and have no problems Somewhere, I have the wiring diagram for controlling the power routing with a DP3T switch for it.
