I recently got a Peco single slip switch and upon opening it, I realized one side wasn't "snapping" into position....The moving tie part has broken out where the spring wire is attached.
You can honestly just about see the damage (it took awhile to even find) I've no idea how to go about taking it apart to replace the piece, or where to even get it.....I've had no luck looking for listed repairing service.
I got this cheaply enough to make it worth repairing....I Ebayed it for 45 bucks as new....the seller refunded half of that when I noted the damage....so I have all of 25 dollars in it. I would like to use it, and not have to buy another.
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks guys!

Contact Peco and let them know of your problem. If they won't replace the switch you could use a Caboose Industries #206S ground throw.

yeah....I'm thinking powering this one may be the only way, or the easiest way to solve this. I have emailed Peco, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

Powering it probably is an easy way to solve it.

I have seen threads where you make a new spring and put it outside the rails. I've never tried it but it seems pretty easy. It looks exactly like the original spring but it's anchored in the scenery adjacent to the throw bar.

Here is a link to using Peco switches with a tortoise.

If you can check out the Mark 7 turnout control in Model Railroader Dec 1977.
Shows how to position the spring albeit on a HO turnout - should work for N.
