Hi folks, I've grown up beside the good old PRR most of my life. Actually born in the family homestead when steam engines still went past. I'm looking for a site where you can list property that is a train enthusiast dream. My property adjoins the RR line running from Pittsburgh to Philly. Amtrak passes thru am and pm; NS is blowing it's horn at the crossing about every 15 min it seems. Built in 1845, my house was here before the RR went thru in 1850. What is now a parking lot and field was the location for storage of the railroad ties; hence we still call it the tieyard. Containing 1.25 acres, a 5 bedroom house with attached store and the old post office (including the combination brass boxes), I feel this location would make a great bed and breakfast for railroad buffs. Last year the old steam engine special went through twice, causing quite the attraction from all around. We've moved and need to part with this piece of local history. If anyone knows of a site where I can list or someone that might be looking for an investment or place to retire to, please let me know. I welcome any advice and/or questions. Many days have been spent on the front porch, counting train cars and watching for the circus train to go through. Such good memories, it will be hard to part with the property. I have many old pictures copied from old glass slides that my great uncle took. Interesting photos of days gone by; I'll have to post some later. Have a good week everyone!

I think you win for the most unusual reason for joining! Sounds like a great location (at least for us who like trains) with quite a story to it as well.

Hello, your just a hop skip and a couple of jumps from where I live in Oakland and work in West Mifflin. Hope you find a buyer who loves trains cause there a 2 different main lines in that area. and you can really get close to the trains to take as many pictures as your heart desires. Maybe I'll meet you some day to talk about days gone bye.
