Anyone know the power rating for the 1KOhm surface mount resistors for LEDs that Atlas uses on their loco circuits boards?
Atlas has used dozens of circuit boards... and is always modifying them. You might need to be specific.
Well, I've got to believe it can't be more than 1/2 W. I couldn't use your method for decoder install on this one, Ron. I'm going all out and installing LokSound Micro Select with 8x12 mm speakers in my two H-16s. The only way to get the decoder to fit was to cut the board and mill out the center section of the frame. I have to replace the 1 KOhm resistor going to the rear white LED with one mounted under that part of the board. I have some 1K .6W jobs lying around. Should be able to get the job done. Already swapped the white LEDs one end to the other and installed common anode types for the R/G.
Ron, would you happen to know offhand if the orange wire goes to the bottom of the H-16 motor or the top?
Here is a link that shows wattage based on the size of the resistor. The chart may not be accurate for every brand of resistor but it will give you a rough idea. http://www.interfacebus.com/Design_Capacitors_Size.html
