The older I get, the faster the weekends go....Why is that? How did you do this weekend? Saturday was a great day. When I left for Bloomington, it was already in the low 50's. Once at Bloomington, the club made quick work on getting the N-Trak modules down and staged for transport for our Club's Run in two weeks. We finished around 10:30, so I had time to spend in Bloomington to get a few things. Once home, I spent the rest of the day outside as it felt like 70 degrees. It was nice to go outside without having to dress in layers or for a mission to Mars. Sunday however, Old Geezer Winter was laughing his, well you know, off and struck a mighty blow to our thinking anything of Spring. Wise New Englander once said, Spring not here til May 30th. Despite the weather, I had a full day to pick up the work shop which has been a mess since Christmas. This will leave me all night to work some more on my T-Trak modules tonight. All in all, a great weekend. So how about you? Did you get some much needed work done on your layout or module? Tell us what you did. Hey don't forget, today is Saint Patrick's Day, so run something green. Hmmm, BN, CN (early), NP, MEC, Rutland, Southern and Vermont Rail all come to mind, sure there is more. It was another ski weekend for me. Saturday was quite a fine day, actually, but Sunday was right back to the brutal cold we've been having all winter here in New England. It has to end sometime. Doesn't it?
Received the Walthers Merchants Row IV on Friday. I have been trying to find buildings to fill out the "downtown" part of Logan, and the kit fit almost perfectly into a space for a few businesses. The town is filling out nicely. This is a great kit. I was pleasantly suprised.
Well I got two things accomplished. First I got one of my skeleton log cars repaired and running. The other still having difficulties. Second I took an old lifelike model weathered it, cut the couplersb off and replaced with kadee #5's looks really good now. However all my next projects are coming together: Install a decoder in a loco I upgraded my digitrax system from super empire builder to super chief xtra- so need to install that Got two HOn3 kits to build, paint, decal, and weather Received the rest of the turnouts I was missing-time to lay track Bought a roundhouse kit I can now finish the turntable as well Also time to wire more track. Hello Everyone. I am quite proud of my accomplishments this weekend. I finished decaling / lettering my 2 engines for my freelanced railroad. Most importantly, I was able to piece together and place a dynamic brake fan on my GP-7 engine. Then I was able to (after much trial and error) mtach the paint and paint said dynamic brake. The dynamic brake came in kit form from Precision Scale ( a top w/ fan and the 2 air vents) After the glue dried, I tried to place the DB on the engine. Only to find that it it wouldn"t fit. It was too narrow for the engine. So I had to gently break the air vents off, place shims on the sides, and re-fit the DB. Eventually it came together. And my engine looks even better for it!
