I just spotted this photo on Google Images while doing a search for Milwaukee Road. At first glance, I was flabbergasted, thinking it was a Class A Atlantic (all supposedly scrapped long before my time), but after looking at it more closely, it does not appear to be one. It does, however, look to be a streamline steamer rusting away in someone's field. When I searched for the image I could find no other copies, nor any additional information. Does anyone know what the story behind this is? It's intriguing to say the least!

I'm throwing out a wild guess here, but it looks like it may be a little European. At first I thought it might be one of the CNW streamlines, but I couldn't find a match.

Found this entry in wikipedia; the caption in your photo says MILW A Class, which shows up as a streamlined Atlantic type. As I read it, only 4 produced, so would have been quite a find at any time.

This parade loco was written up in an issue of "The Milwaukee Railroader" (TMR), by the MRHA.

What an interesting find. Before I enlarged the photo (or read any of the other posts), I was briefly astounded.
