urodoji, I hope your day job is in advertising because you definitely got my immediate attention with that title...LOL
There actually was a model railroad called the "Sue Line"-- I have a Special Run boxcar with almost exactly the same paint scheme.
PM'd you. Believe it or not, I am married to Susan, her brother and sister-in-law on her side is Mike and Susan, my brother and sister-in-law on my side is Mike and Susan. Talk about keeping it simple..... Bob
No Susans anywhere in my family but I do have private owner ore cars lettered for a granddaughter, along with a mine and ore processing facility named for her. Then there is the Olde Moore's Turtle Soup car and a couple of buildings named after other family members including the ice cream parlor bearing my wife's name.
Like John, I too have several "named" places alluding to family members. One is a memorial to my father which is a series of DIMMs acting as a fence. Way out of scale but it works for me. The mountains in my backdrop are the "Nolan Peaks Range" named after the artist, Pete Nolan. I'm glad I'm restarting 'The Grey and Grandure' since so many other places have been named after her predecessors. On this layout I will encourage family members to aid in the construction of their name sakes so the "Sy Ad Tower" will be named after Sylvia, (my future step daughter), who is looking forward to assisting in its construction. Laura's Valley will be a farming region which she will layout between Jelani's Peak and Ash Mt. Jelani is the 4yo and Ashlee is his mother. Mom will assist Jelani and I in the process. There is more.
The sixth release in the Model Railroads of the Lone Star Region NMRA Special Run Series, commemorating Dr. Richard Kamm's Sue Line Railroad, NSC Number 93-09 was a brown 40 foot single sliding door boxcar bearing white printing and reporting number SUE LINE 1993. NJoy
Yep. That's the one. I purchased it on the auction site not long ago. I'm going to knock the built date off with an eraser so it'll fit on my future fall 1949 layout.
