:teeth:I thought that was hilarious! I think it could be a turntable, or maybe a fancy turnout. A number 8 or 10 turnout would be nice but I really wouldn't think it would be something like that. A double slip or curved turnout would be very impressive. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but how about a new bridge?

    Given, (Generalizations Follow):
    • That the US market is a 2nd consideration to Kato
    • That the "Y Switch" was aimed at the passenger station layout
    • That many Japanese layouts are temporary and for small environments
Perhaps we should be thinking in terms of the Japanese market? What would they want / need?

That's the one that, as I mentioned in my previous post, has been listed by Japanese dealers as terminated.

I'm really hoping for turntable!! I've decided to put one in my layout and it would be cool to see what Kato came up with.

    I'm thinking turntable
They have had one listed in the Japanese catalog since 2012 with no pics and no availabliy schedule as well as a 3 stall roundhouse. A coming soon thing . According to my research on the JNS forum
    So , that's my guess

Well... I would not be interested in a 'turntable'... but... a Transfer Table would be VERY INTERESTING.

...but they're listed again in the new 2014 Kato catalog. My money is on these.

Hmmm. The T-Trak crowd might be very interested in such an item.

My guess is a North American Suburban Train Station complete with platform and out structures. Want to see a picture. Go to Kato website Look under unitrack and accessories and you will see a picture with said item with new coming soon. Acorrding to their site it is base off one around Chicago. It even comes with signage with amtrack logos. Looks pretty cool what I could see of the pictures.

Kato's Japanese website doesn't list them in the delivery schedules for the next six months but you never know.

While they would be very handy for building T-TRAK modules they don't exactly knock my socks off as I can make the same confgurattion with No.4's, now if they did it with No.6's.

The crossover and the turntable are not exactly things we don't already know about so I'm starting to wonder if they have something different altogether up their sleeves.

Since we didn't indicate which Rick? Hey, from all the Rick's on board here glad you noted it and either liked or didn't. YOUR WELCOME.

RickH. not to be confused with Rick H, Rick B., Rick C., Rick D. and etc.

Geez can't some folks take a hint.

I don't think it will be a turntable as I doubt that would go well with easy to setup / break down and it's hard to turn a bullet train on a turntable. :)

While it wouldn't necessarily knock my socks off I would like to see longer sections of Unitram track that could be used for things like passenger stations and auto rack loading/unloading yards.

I honestly didn't realize that Kato already has single track crossovers in #4 (HV3) and #6 (HV4) for the HO Unitrack.
