Here is my most recent "all new build", a Southern Pacific GS-1 Built on a Bachmann J Mechanism with modifications very similar to the Pennsy M1 build. The mechanism is near perfect for this build with an alligator cross head and spoked drivers "close" to 74". Lets see some more S.P. stream!! Jason Smith
Much better than the old Con Cor S-2 Northern that I altered to resemble a GS-1. And you even gave it a T&NO number of one the the locomotives that kept the cylindrical tender. The ones T&NO got from the Pacific lines all had new tenders like this.
Jason, I have primed my AC-9, drilled the holes for everything I can see needs it, but! What handrail stanchions do you use, in the land down under, there is really nothing readily available, so I will need to procure some from the USA, hopefully my favorite dealer carries something suitable.
Your skills to fabricate these locomotives are overwhelming! I like B&O steam, but any steam will do.
I originally was going to go the route of the S2 and even bought one in Milwaukee planning on it. Russell Your engine looks very nice.
T&NO example... NICE! This is the often forgotten GS by most... but not us! Really liking the "group" shot, plenty of unique "horse power". Crazy as it sounds, for the area I model, I don't "need" an AC-9. Now has for a GS-1, different story!
I don't NEED an AC-9 either...but I'm getting one. I should just subscribe to Turbine so he can just send me one of whatever he is making.
