Pardon what's probably a silly question, but if the Kato Maxi-I cars are run on wide enough radiused curves, will 45' or 48' containers clear one another in the top position (not every one, of course, but maybe 1 or 2) if the rest are forty footers?
The lowers, of course, will be 40 footers or a couple of 20 footers...

I am more or less dating my operation/equipment by not running Maxi-3's (or whatever) and 53' containers...the real ones are too dang big, and so are the N-scale ones! Considered keeping to 40' containers, but there's several nice 45 and 48 footers available....

    Tim,

The Kato Maxi-I cars will work fine with 45-ft or 48-ft containers on top.

The prototypes are allowed up to 48' containers in the upper position, or 53' containers in the upper position for A, D, B, and 40' containers for E and C.

Bear in mind that the flat-sided wells as modelled by Kato are fairly modern cars.
