Just wondering who is planning on going to Trainfest in West Allis, WI (near Milwaukee) next weekend, November 9 & 10. I have my tickets and plan to be there with my family on Saturday. Scott
I'll be there running trains on the ModuTrak layout. TrainFest is always a great time. Stop by and say "Hello".
I'm going. It's a long drive from D.C. but I usually work in a visit to family in the Chicago area. I like to interact with the manufacturers (had a nice talk with Blackstone last year) and last year conducted an impromptu demonstration of Unitrack at the Kato display. This year, I want to talk to Intermountain about their Z scale, beg Athearn to bring back the MDC HOn3 shay, and see where Exactrail is on their new N scale wheels. I'll be wearing a shirt with a "Burlington Route" herald embroidered on it and walking around.
Hopefully someone else will cover that as I have to much stuff to bring as it is. The times I did bring my camera, I was too busy to use it at all. With 25,000 plus people there, I'm sure we'll see some pics.
I might go. Never been, but live close enough that I should have by now. I usually plan to go and then decide work on the layout instead.
Right now, I am going, but it may change. I live in Texas, but will be working in MN and the plane fare to stop in MILW isn't that much different than flying right home. That may change, though. I forgot we have our local train show to go to the same weekend, and not sure if its that much better (I went last year, but I know its better.....but how much? I guess that depends on what vendors are there, what deals, etc.)
Correct, I'll be in the locomotive.. not the third boxcar. I know every engineer on every train, all of their children and all of their names (fact). Randy
