I resurrected a Lifelike GN SW1200 last night but it's still missing a few parts. I need two horns (ones for another SW) front and back headlights with glass, and the rear handrails for the rear (cab end) sides. Color does not matter. I'm hoping someone might have these parts in there scrap bin. I can pay or maybe trade some parts, I have a box full of parts and shells.

Anyways it's always fun to fix something that has been sitting around for ever. I think it originally got sidelined because a couple of the brass wipers came off. At some point I borrowed some parts for other SW projects and even tried to put a GP7 hood on it like a few RR's before putting it away for a long time. Mabey next I will finally finish my GP50 project that has been collecting dust for ages.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Just go to the Walthers website and order what you need.

Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week :)

    Cheers,

    Kevin,
I can't help with the parts you are missing but I also have a SW1200 that is missing the brass wipers. Did you find a source to buy replacements?

I have a GN #15 complete shell minus the horn you can have. Send me your mailing address and I'll send it out...Jim

Ryan, I had the wipers that fell off and I just superglued them back on. I did see somewhere around here where someone bent some brass strips and made new wipers.

Life Like parts department? I didn't know it existed. I had a GP 38-2 that was missing one of the numberboards. I called Life Like (now Walthers) and was informed that if I wanted parts, I needed to purchase another unit to canibalize it. I was like ¤¤¤??? I just bought this and there are no parts available????? I think Walthers needs to take some lessons in parts 101 from Atlas and Kato.

Sorry, a poor attempt at gallows humor. Walthers rarely has any parts available, let alone a website that would let you order them (ala Atlas and Kato).

Thanks to JBrown not only did I get most of the parts I needed but I received a GN shell that does not have to be superglued together like my old one. I am still looking for a headlight/glass housing, and two horns. Any help is apriciated.
    Thanks again JBrown.
