I would like to have a farm equipment seller on my layout, does anyone know of anything that would be suitable for a early 70's scene?

    Tractors, combines, ploughs etc.

Design Preservation Miniatures- now part of Woodland Scenics- had a kit with structure & equipment in N. I know many of their offerings are also available in HO.
My implement dealer was in a late 1950s scene in a piney woods small town. I scratchbashed something close to a standard Santa Fe heavy equipment unloading platform instead of using the kit platform. I kept the dealership within a rather slim outline because I have only 3 inches to spare between spur track and layout edge.

I somewhat modified the kit so this does not give an exact impression of the kit.
Wayne Implement sold farm equipment in my fictitious Wayne County, Texas. Many many Texas counties are named for Texas heroes, so my fictititous ounty was named for a famous fictitious Texas hero: John Wayne.

What i need is more modern equipment, but what I have seen is stuff from the 40's-50's or 2000+, there appears to be a large gap of late 60's early 70's era farm equipment.

I agree with Matt. It is not only farm equipment, but it seems like there is also a gap in regular vehicles for the 1960's-early 1970's . There are some out there, but they are dwarfed by the quantity of 1950's and 2000's vehicles.

The Deere 4020 went from 1963 to 1972 - I believe Ertl made one of those. The Ertl International 706 would be in the 63-66 time frame. The Athearn Deere 5010 would be fine, too. The Deere 7700 combine was probably mid 70's - you should be able to find a few Athearn ones.

    Searched Walthers

Walthers seems to show a fair amount of more modern farm equipment available. Just be prepaired to take out a second morgage as they are pretty pricey.

I don't mind if they are expensive, I will only need a few for the dealership.
