I have a new JnJ caboose dish antenna. It has only three parts and no instructions. Does anyone have a photo of how the completed dish is supposed to look like. I know it's only three parts, but when you have big fingers I want do assemble it correctly the first time.

As an Antenna Engineer, post a few pictures or a link to a picture and I could tell you how to assemble it.

It should have three basic parts, the dish, the feed and the support. I am pretty sure you are not too worried about the cable the goes from the feed into the caboose, but if you are, 24 gauge black wire, or smaller, is your best bet.

Looks like a Cassegrain Feed antenna

    See: http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&sour...DQyjt7duo1diaYsE3-SOKG2Q&ust=1379864198949228

The small dish should have the bottom curve in the same orientation of the big dish when you are done.

The crossed elements are the feed support structure. Attach the top of the smaller dish to the underside of the feed support.

The four points of the feed need to be shaped such that the ends go into the 4 holes of the main dish.

When it is done, it should resemble: https://www.q-par.com/products/refl.../images/report.jpg/pa_thumb/imagex86x130.jpeg

    I hope this helps...

    Edit:

In this case, the wire would go into the back of the center of the big dish

    Also

These antennas are often painted white or off white. There is a reason besides protecting the metal, the coatings can also filter out unwanted frequencies.

You did great, I just wasn't real sure where the small dish went. I thought it might be a base for mounting.
