I wonder whether this is just a dream. But I guess not. There are no details yet. And I expect the customary delays. But it is an incredible start, announcing two new HOn3 engine types at the same time. Also, the new snap tracks will finally become an available reality in August. No turnouts yet, though.
There is certainly enough interest in both HOn3 and Colorado Narrow Gauge. I would believe these will sell nicely.
I'm happy to see this announcement and it's a great leap forward. Still waiting for the day Blackstone announces something for the 2nd largest narrow gauge railroad in Colorado, the Colorado and Southern. The C&S had boxcars, stockcars, flatcars, and reefers that later went to the RGS and the White Pass and Yukon (For that matter locomotives to, 1 B4F to RGS and 2 B4D's to WP&Y). It would be a way to kill three birds with one stone if Blackstone produced this rolling stock and it would satisfy many of us who model railroads other then the D&RGW. I guess at the end of the day it is all about demand. Alex
Wow! It's like a dream! As soon as I can preorder I'm getting two k-36 and one k-28. Hope they come in 2014 and not in 2020 ha.
If the manufacturer intends to bring these models out in '14, they must be pretty far along development wise.
I think they had done a lot of work while they were searching for an affordable manufacturing solution. Though I thought this was concentrated on the K-36. Even better if they were able to do the work for both.
This is very exciting news! I'm very happy with Blackstone so far. I think C&S rolling stock will come around before too long. Email them! Good or bad, they do need to hear from us!
A few months ago I checked their website and noticed these were advertised... but... no date was set for release. Perhaps not enough pre-orders for them to make a firm commitment to produce them. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
Last Spring, I had Facebook discussion with Blackstone on their website about the delay. Blackstone lost their regular manufacturer during some turmoil in Chinese MR manufacturing industry. They had to start all over again with a new company.... hence the 3 or 4 year delay. They still plan on delivering these models probably early or mid 2018 would be my guess .... maybe earlier with luck. They are as frustrated as we are. I don't think it has anything to do with preorders. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The longer we have to wait for this, the more I fear it might really just have been a dream. The most recent info on Facebook says that the engines are still in their drawing stage. Would you believe, after all these years! Terrible.
Yikes. Still only on paper? Talk about premature mention of a product... We know of vaporware, perhaps this is paperware?
I was at my Local hobby shop and saw these today. What can I say -- It's stunning. Oh, and the price, what can I say -- It's stunning.
I talked to someone at Southwest Narrow Gauge a few days ago . He has apparently spoke to someone at Blackstone and the new date is probably the middle of next year . Mike
