My favorite is Jim Reisings Oakville Sub. The ability to run prototype sized trains gets my vote. The scenery ain't too shabby either. Who's your hero?
I've always been a big fan of sd90ns's layout. Lots of great detailing without going all George Selios on it. Cheers, -Mark
Mark Dance 's layout is a beauty to behold. I also enjoyed Vern Niner's Santa Fe layout, to bad he changed scales !
I have to wholeheartedly agree with John's comment. Everyone's layout has a favourite element to it and they all represent countless hours of time invested coupled with generous amounts of skill, creativity and vision which in most instances I can only dream of matching. I appreciate each and every one of them equally and am grateful that they share their layouts with us.
I like all, the big, little and med. size and it makes no difference of the time era, as I like steam and diesel locos ( favorites with me).
I do enjoy a lot of them. One thing I have noticed is the lack of build threads on the forum as of late. I picked up a lot of my methods from watching other people's threads. Seems like TrCO's thread is the only one active anymore. Maybe it is just too darn nice outside to be model railroading *sigh* hahaha
I noticed same thing. I was going to do a build thread when I built mine but never got around to it. I was too busy doing benchwork and scenery as fast as I could to get the trains running again. I'd rather take pics when its done.
Some nights, I like mine the least. I presume no one else has the shorts, dirty track, derailments, etc. At least they don't show up in forum pictures.
mines the best hands down I have never had a short, derailment, dirty track or turnout problems EVER!!!!!! One peice of C55
Other than my own UPRR Geneva Sub, I like Mark Dance's Columbia & Western and Jim Riesling's Oakville Sub. I had the opportunity to vist Jim's layout a couple of days ago and put together a short video. Check it out youtube channel.
