I heard from him about two weeks ago. He has been quite occupied with other things, but has plans to get busy again soon.

I had posted a comment on his youtube profile, but have yet to notice a reply. Good to know he's still around here somewhere :p

Seen plenty of work/posts/photos from the HO lumber layout he is rebuilding.

After he finishes that project, he was planning on getting back on new Free-Mo N stuff.

Please let him know the gang here is thinking of him, and looking forward to seeing his forthcoming projects! We also wouldn't mind seeing the other layout project he's been working to complete.

We do have an active "Horribly Oversized" forum here. And his work is so good, it would be a pleasure to see- Even in that size. :)

    Still here.
    Sorry I haven't responded much.

After a full year of full-throttle Free-moN, culminating with the WGH show in March and the NMRA / PCR Iron Horse Convention in April (at which I both ran trains with the Free-moN group and gave two clinics), I was just burnt out.

Family, work & health issues reared their ugly hydra-heads at the same time, and I didn't touch a train for about 6 weeks.

Right when I was getting back out to the garage to play around, a dude who shares our LHS called me to ask if I could help finish his HO layout.
After he came down with cancer a couple years ago he just hasn't had the energy to work on it, and now his grandkids (7 & 8) are ready for trains.
He's got a great collection of brass geared steam that he's had DCC'ed and sounded, but dang if they're not finicky.

DKS provided the link above that shows how I'm expanding and re-vamping his layout.
As my first real work in Horribly Oversized since I was 8, it's been very interesting getting a feel for the scale (if nothing else to appreciate all that's posible in N! :) ).
It's a great learning experience and for a good "cause" so I'm basically doing it for gas money.

I hope to finish up Phase I of the revamp in the next week or so.
The client wants to build another extention to create a continuous-run layout with a pit in the middle accessed by lift-out, but as I'm scrambling to find a real job with health benefits (working as a freelance writer & editor is groovy, but I need to be in a small group of super-charged simians to really shine) I'm not sure how much time I can spend on the extension.
    Guess we shall see!

At the very least, I'm playing with some groovy geared steam and building something he can enjoy with his grandkids.

On the Free-moN front, looks like we might be at the GTE shows in San Jose in Sept. and Pleasanton after Thanksgiving in Nov., we we're getting back in the swing of things by building some more 45 deg. sections that allow us to fold the longer straight modules into a tighter space :)
    More track!
    More trains!

    Thanks for the concern.
Not sure why a thread was opened up, as anyone could just send an email directly to me through TB or my website.
(TrCO: hardly check my YouTube!)(Been enjoying you autumn work on your layout, though)

Next time just send an email or PM directly!

    Cheers!
