Just looking at my 2 sw1200's which are headed to the painshop soon, how difficult is it to remove the bodies and trucs from the Life Like model? I recall in the past that someonementioned it was very difficult?

Any help would be much appreciated?

Paul - I think there are disassembly instructions included on the instruction sheet in the bottom of the jewel box. IIRC - the cab comes off first as a separate piece and then the body will come off. Be careful with the lead weight within the cab. You need to first free the two hand rails from the back of the cab. It's been years since I did this, so hopefully my memory is serving us correctly. I sold mine, so I can't check.

Also, this may not be the recommended approach for the trucks, but with the unit I had the trucks would "snap" out simply by pulling down on them. Life-Like's mechanism has a bit more "slop" than, say, Kato.

    Instructions?!? What are those??
Guess I should learn to read those, hate to mention what happened to the tabs on my RS-1 I've been working on. [IMG]

So, Paul, did it work? We need to know, because we've all been holding our breath!

Here are the almost finished repaints, still awaiting some decals for the second unit.

    William,

I beleive you have a method to make the contacts to the trucks work better?

I might just add that it is a good idea to disassemble the unit in a box. There are a lot of little grab irons that might get lost. Frank
