Here is a link to a cross reference put together by Microscale. http://www.microscale.com/ResourceCntr_Floquil.html Let the nit picking begin.
Looks like a very good starting point at the least. And for those unfamiliar with the line, most all of the ModelMaster colors are available as acrylic as well as enamel.
I think this is what Chris started behind the "subscriber only" wall of the Model Railroader (Kalmbach) forum. I'm glad to see it's now publically available.
I've used Model Master here and there, and been generally OK with it, but I haven't used it on rolling stock as far as I can recall.
Thanks for posting this link. However, I REFUSE to buy ANYTHING from RPM. So that leaves Testors and Model Master out of my equation. I will seriously be looking at Tamiya paints now, I think.
Try Left click with the mouse and scroll down the chart until all is hi lighted. Then right click and the menu should have a copy choice and hit copy. Then open up a blank word document and paste to it. Should have the entire chart with color blocks saved as a document when you save it in Word. For some reason unknown to me when I had done this on the other thread about this it didn't transfer the color chart just the writing. But I have a copy as a word doc. on my computer with the chart that I can print out to go shopping with.
Correct me if I am wrong but I did not notice Scalecoat I or 2 on the list and as far as I can tell they are still alive and well and can be ordered direct from their webpage.
I am on Mac platform. No left/right click. Did have it all hilited in blue, as if all selected. But NG. Maybe I should go to their home page and try from there. Thanks, Joe D
I highlighted then printed to pdf which kept the grid intact. The color swatches did not transfer in the process but this is not a problem for me though. HOpe this helps. Chris
For those looking for more cross referencing, there's also this: http://www.paint4models.com/. This is a searchable website, designed more towards military modellers, with the ability to match a fairly wide variety of manufacturers. No RR colors that I can tell, but may go well with MicroScale's offering...
Once again the sheep are led to a testor's product. This guide lists Tamiya, Vallejo, and Humbrol. This is the real value of the cross reference list. Not sending us back to Testors for their questionable quality paint. Testors/RPM presented RR modelers with a great opportunity to use other, better, brands of paint. Try them. You'll like them.
