Just got another passenger car for my ever growing collection. I don't have any of these grey coaches and I rode in enough of them as a kid in Italy so it's one of my preferred schemes. Got a deal on it from ebay... well, there is always shipping to be added on, but it was still under 20.00$

Now I am waiting near the door, ready to pounce on the mailman when it shows up. ;)

Most of my “good deal” eBay buys turn out to be just OK. But these two DCC diesels look and run good and just cost $20 including shipping. I did have to replace 3 couplers and 1 coupler clip. They don’t look like my other similar units and the FT-A has people installed. I am assuming they are from some older run of the FT-As.

Nice one! I like the classic Toronado parked beside the machine shop too.

Just today, I purchased a trio of old Walthers North Shore Interurbans, two coaches and a combine from one of the LHSs.

Those interurbans are beautiful. Be careful or you'll end up making a traction layout. ;)

They do run on ridiculously small curves such as a 7" radius.

Can I ask what you paid for them?

$30 for the trio, so it was a pretty good deal in my opinion.

I'd say they practically gave them to you. Or did a 3 for the price of 1/2 deal at least. Do you have other traction on the layout?

These are actually my first pieces of traction equipment. I bought them as they were very appealing not only in looks but price as well.

My latest purchases and my first for a very long time is this pair.

One of my favourite liveries on a boxcar but will need some light weathering.

    This is an Accurail car.

The other is this covered hopper, I do not know what make it is but the detail is far above my old Intermountian one.

I haven't bought any freight cars for over 10 years when I bought a few covered hoppers from ConCor like the Milwaukee Road in the keft of the first picture. While on a road trip, visiting another model railroader, we went to a swap meet. As things were winding down and people were putting their items away, I saw this Kadee covered hopper. I offered the owner $25 for it and he took it. I am sure that these cars retail for a lot more, but I could use a few more hoppers.

I didn't realize that it has the newer closer to scale couplers until I took it out of the box a few days ago.

The end details on the car are really good. I imagine that they will show up a lot better after a bit of weathering.

Most of my rolling stock is well over 20 years old, most of them Athearn blue box kits. I thought I had what I needed but this one I couldn't pass up.

Picked this up off evilbay for $31 including shipping. Handrail split in a couple places, but no biggie. I think I did alright. Fit in nicely among the other 5 GP30'S on the layout.

Living 2 hours from the nearest hobby shop keeps me from spending too much. So when I do go I'm like a kid in a candy store. This last trip I picked up 3 Walthers tank cars and a Con Cor gondola. These will soon be weathered and added to the roster.
