Wow. Imagine something painted that way, roaming this country. I'm quite certain it would really draw attention to the cause!

If you look at the google pics, the very first one up shows only the center painted grey.
Others vary, so they must have modified it at some point.
Couldn't care less about the UP, but having lost my mother to BC...

I'm beginning to think some of you should pony up some cash and start your own model railroad company, since you'd obviously get every detail correct without fail.

FVM is still a one man shop. The continual bashing FVM gets on Trainboard is beyond me. We're talking about a guy's livelihood.

I'm entitled to my opinion and will continue to do so. So there.

Ah yes, that tired, bizarre suggestion. So, if I don't like my steak I should go start my own restaurant? I spend non-insignificant amounts of money on FVM products, and as such I feel I have the right to express dissatisfaction with the products. Disagree? I can't very well send a locomotive back and say, "yeah, can you just fix this logo, it's not right". So my only option is to communicate that "since multiple times you've 'missed', I expect you to do better."

The fact that he is a one-man shop is irrelevant. He is competing against other companies and if he chooses to hire more (to increase his quality) or less (to reduce overhead) employees is his decision, and is probably indicative of the issues he is having. (just a guess) The fact that it is his livelihood makes it even MORE important that he receives criticism of his product, since it could affect him negatively if folks aren't buying his stuff.

EXACTLY, you are entitled....as is everyone else, as long as they are conducting themselves within the limits of the rules of the forum they are participating in. That's why it's called a discussion forum. Every discussion forum--on every topic imaginable--has people expressing their opinion about products

Well, it's time to move on here. This topic has strayed from the product into other arenas.

I will say this- It requires mere moments of looking to find that the world is filled with items being reviewed- Picked or panned. TV, radio, the Internet. In print, the newpapers, magazines. Consumer Reports Magazine has been publishing shortcomings found for a myriad of products, 60 years now. People discuss their feelings about items in many venues, covering virtually all things which end up being publicly sold. But somehow when it comes to model railroading, it suddenly becomes forbidden territory? Which is a rather interesting concept.

On TrainBoard, we are allowed to discuss pros and cons of products, both new and old. Just please do so thoughtfully. There are two paths for this, one being destructive. The other is constructive.
