Had no idea you're in FL! I guess you need to update your signature/location info As for acquiring what I see at the train tracks, railfanning basically is a reminder of what my layout needs
I would update my signature line if I could figure out where the option is to do that. I must say I've tried but I cannot find where such a seemly simple update is to be made on the Trainboard web pages.
John - Top right of the screen - Settings; you'll find 'Edit Profile' (for Location) and 'Edit Signature' sitting under My Settings/My Profile
Spoke with Chuck this morning and placed my reservation. He says this set looks like a big hit, based on the number of orders he already has.
I'm wondering, a couple people are talking of buying the Wheels of Time Gallery cars. I bought a lot of the first release in C&NW and RTA colors. I consider them wasted money. After adding weight, changing trucks, wheels, etc… the cars don't perform. They can't stay coupled and derail easily. The under-weighted ConCor Galleries work lots better. The WoTs couldn't hold a candle the Arnold cars. I put them on par with NGI kits built by a two year old. Have the later releases improved?

I don't have any of the problems you speak of, but can't say if it is due to a change or not. On their site, they do show a "new" truck, but not certain what it is new in comparison to.
What surprises me is that they have Microtrains trucks from the factory. When I swapped them onto other passenger cars the trucks and couplers worked great. New MT or old ConCor did not make them any better. I guess I need to rebuild the bolster area to convert them from yard fillers.
I don't have any of those problems with my WOT cars. If you want to sell me some of your CNW cars I might be interested.
Mine will make it to me tomorrow. My sister lives near Feather River Trains, and she picked mine up from Chuck, yesterday.
Here is a close up of a CalTrain commuter car, with an older SP (WoT) car in front. GS-4 in back. The Kato-Kobo car's details are amazing
havent browsed this thread in awhile. and what a surprise to see those pics! love your layout!! would love to see your layout in person someday! =) and today, news has it that a nscale caltrain kato mp36 is coming out!! HURRAY MY CALTRAIN SET IS COMPLETE!
If you (or anyone) ever are in the Union City/Fremont/Hayward CA area and want to see, just drop me a PM. Just need a day or two notice to make sure everything is tidy and clean (still have to put all the roof pieces and windows back on the roundhouse after this weekend's small earthquake. Wasn't much of one, but all it took was one piece going for them all to). Yeah- the new MP36 is exciting, but... Have a couple weeks to decide.
