Ive seen some layouts that have wires running from their telegraph poles using fine fishing line, has anyone tried this and do you fix the wire to the poles to keep it rigid? regards paul
You can also use very fine piano wire. Also try very fine unwaxed dental floss. Stay cool and run steam......
Paul - I've used 3 lb test lead for telegraph/telephone/power wire before. All I do to fix it in place is make a loop around the insulator and apply a dot of super glue (the thin type, not the gel) to hold it in place.
The best thing I have found is Magicians "Invisible Elastic Thread" It is elastic, so you don't break anything if you snag it when cleaning track or working on the layout, it just stretches. It is much smaller diameter than most threads and has no "fuzz" on it. You can get it at most magic supply houses, such as here: http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=542
