any advice on how to make a layout i kinda know what i want im thinking about making two layouts one i can taveal with and one that i keep at home i want at lest a one bridge and i would like to make it really detailed so any advice is welcomed?
Cody, the size and complexity of a traveling layout depends on how you would like to transport it. Its traveling size can go from a large suitcase to needing the back of a van. Seriously, years ago I saw an HO layout that folded into the size of a large suitcase that rolled on wheels and was pulled like a suitcase.
HI codyfire have you been ever to are nov. train. at the fair grounds. i see you are a member of the Oswego club. I am a member of the salt city N scale club
no i didnt go this year i was at the one in fulton and i'll be at the one sunday if ur there maybe we can talk?
idk much about model railroading im just starting out ik the HO and O scale layouts the club has is module
Well my suggestion would be for the travelling layout would be this. I would make a module or maybe even a switching distirct that was incorporated into your layout that could be removed from the "home" layout and installed at shows to the "club" layout. Just my $0.02
i would but club doesnt have a N scale layout i may even just make it for the club and just use it at the new haven AL were thry keep the other layouts
Since your club doesn't have a N scale layout, you could also try building a couple of T-trak modules. 6-8 modules would fit on a tabletop and could be stored at your home in a small space.
yes i will be at the eastwood show on Sunday. you still can make a ntrak module that is used as part of your home layout and can be removed so it can go in a big show layout. last yr. we had 10 clubs and 6 individual owned modules that do not belong to a club.
i'll be with the lego guys and i'll also be going back and forth between the oswego valley group and the lego group
