I'm building my benchwork. It is raised and lowered form the ceiling in a common room. I will be closing the bottom. I have 2 depth concerns. 1) My controls - I can figure that out 2) The Walthers turntable, I don't yet have. How much room below bench, do I need, for the turntable? Also, these are the deepest things I can imagine. Am I missing anything/ Thanks
I have installed the new Walthers n-scale DCC turntable on top of 2 inches of extruded foam board and it does not extend below the underside of the board, so two inches of depth should be sufficient. I do not think you are missing anything else. By the way, I am very pleased with the operation of the turntable.
Allow at least 2"(5.7cm) of clearance below the pit. http://www.walthers.com/instructions/0933/09330000002613.pdf I have mine cut through 1/2 inch plywood...plenty of room below.
