I am from the "old school" and do not believe in DCC so you know exactly from where my opinions originate. I have most of the newer models both diesel electric and steam and have a very large loco inventory which makes my decision to go dcc rather moot anyway. I have a large layout in my living room and run trains everyday, and consider myself fully immersed in this hobby and scale for many years.

As an old guy, I tend to form my opinions over lengths of time and they are pretty well set in even if they are unpopular or even incorrect to a degree. First, from that standpoint, I have seen some excellent stuff come from ConCor after the breakup with Kato, but those are those isolated issues, like the 2-10-2, Zephyr, M1000 and others as they were manufactured by others anyway.
As for re-tooling the Hudson again, I will pass on this one, as I have experienced them all, from the ridiculous (first prod run) to the incompetent and overpriced (latest prod run) to the sublime the second powered version, Of the latest versions I owned 1 of 5 runs and I still have it, and have to coas it to get it to go than is runs, "just OK". When I saw this writing on the wall last year, I splurged and went out to buy every ConCor Kato under $100 on ebay I could and wound up with 30 good solid runners and pullers.
I don't care if they issue a new one. I now have enough to last me through the rest of my life, and have painted and decalled them to my taste. That is one move I am enthusiastic to have had.
My last Hudson was the rare Aeolus Great NOrthern in streamline shovelnose design with zephr colors in mint condition, from a long time, and recently deceased collector.
As for my opinion, I would encourage Jim Conway's self appointed opinion about the costs of tolling vs the cost of return. It is not a hand he should be on.

Here, also from the old school. Have no need for DCC but still want an up to date NYC Hudson. I own 3 of the old Rail Baron versions. ALL 3 run like trash. Once I got the electrical pick up straighten out, they still dance down the rails. Wobble, gimp, shake. No matter what I tinker. A new improved version, built to modern standards would be fantastic.
