I have 4 engines that I want to run on my Digitrax DCC layout im building...but I have a problem...

Being new to DCC I can not find what decoder i need...Mostly i cannot find it on the Digitrax site, as they do not have a Tyco option under brand selection...
I also cannot figure out what motors are even in them to see if anything else could be comaptable.

    Can anyone help?? lol

    here's a photo of them:

1 sound decoder would be more expensive than all of those engines, is it really worth it? You will have to have the decoder soldered in. I don't think there is a drop solution for these models.

Oh I know, these have sentimental value to me as they have been in my family since they were new way back when...

Also I know there's not going to be a drop in, I'm well aware I'll have to modify something else to fit but that's what I need help with lol...I need to figure out which ones I can get to control them.

You can outfit those locomotives with any decoder able to fit within the shell.

    Digitrax DH123:

Walthers catalogue advertised a 'rolling chassis' with decoder & sound which you could keep your bodies and fit an entirely new, assembled, and ddc & sound powered chassis. I think this is it:

That costs $, but will be well worth it.

The old tyco & Bachmann trains from my youth are preserved and used daily, and quite frankly are the pride of my fleet(in my eyes), thanks to fitting a modern chassis underneath my favorite and most nostalgic F units bodies.

Very cool! Exactly the info I was looking for! Thank you :)

I may have to look into those new chassis too...
