Not sure if this has been shown here before, but I ran across it on YouTube tonight... :startled::uhoh:
Nice find. Quite interesting. I would guess they found that doing their deeds on a curve worked better than on a tangent track.
Very interesting footage. The physics involved weren't at all what I'd expected. For some reason after watching this video I feel like I've just been put on some secret CIA watch list. Brian
Just an FYI for those who don't know this historical tidbit: the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) was the WW-II predecessor of the CIA, responsible for sabotage operations behind enemy lines/ I found it very interesting how much damage was required to cause the derailment, especially considering how easily those of us in N scale can accomplish the same thing quite by accident!
Much easier to use the RAF Typhoons and Army Air Corp P-51 Mustangs against those German trains! Interesting footage nonetheless.
Good find. I can't watch action movies anymore because all the special effects stuff is not anywhere near reality. like cars that have to go up ramps to roll over. Or people outrunning fireballs. Yeah right. ha ha Thanks.
Wow. Those giant gaps in my track work are prototypical. They are evidence of sabotage by the Germans.
