David, Thank you for all you did for Z scale. You furthered it as a scale and your work will not be forgotten. I for one am a better overall model railroader due to your guidance, personal teachings, advice, products, blog and articles. http://1-220.blogspot.com/ All the best! John
I hope David reads this & sees how we are on his side. David, stay strong & upbeat no matter how things look. For the last 9 years,I've been fighting simalar things. Auto-ammune dieaese, 7 compression fractures, a colon explosion, etc. I'm fighting everyday. I'll keep fighting as will you. I've got to get a full hip replacement the end of Feb. I still have to have 1 more surgery on my stomach. I'm hoping to get back to work after that. I was totally parallized for about 4 months. I'm still recovering from that. Building up everyday. So, no matter how bad it looks, keep your head up, keep fighting & you'll get better. Good luck!
David may be giving up on Z scale, but it isn't through with model railroading. In fact is current project is Nn3: http://whiteriverandnorthern.net/chapter_9.htm Guess he likes to move in small increments ; ) It is too bad we won't get to watch him build another Z empire, but we still get to watch.
David All the best with your health challenges, always enjoyed your frank unbiased and honest opinions and your blog and web site, I was happy to see you will be keeping the "promate couplers" project in z. Mike.
Thank you all for the truly touching outpouring of sentiment. As I noted in the blog, it's not like I'm going anywhere; I'll be around to answer questions or help out. I simply won't be personally doing anything in Z Scale. NZT, however, is another matter, and one should not assume that the "Z" in "NZT" is going away.
Glad to hear that the Z in NZT is not going anywhere. You made some great details that I enjoy. Perhaps one day you might dabble in Z?
Sorry to hear that you having to give up Z, but glad to hear that N will regain your passion and talent for pushing what can be done in model railroading. Hopefully you'll still have blog your new layout as you've done with your previous ones, as each has been very educational and inspiring. Also glad to here the the Z in NZT isn't going away. ~Paul E.
Thank you David. Sad to learn you give up Z scale, but happy to learn that you go on with modelrailroading which is the most important whichever the scale. dom
David, Good to read that you stay in railway modeling! Thank you for your Z-scale info! Your explanation how to chop the GP chassis, inspired me to scratch build my D&RGW 149 SW1000.
Thanks for shareing the hobby with us all. You were certainly inspirational; but like you said, you will still be around. Good.
