Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! It's October 2005 again and this former ATSF GP20 in Kodachrome is sitting in the Cal Northern Napa(I think Napa?) Yard.
What is the marking on the long hood? TPW? As I recall, AT&SF had control or ownership of the TP&W for a while. If so, this unit has wandered far and wide.
Several summers back, in Tacoma, Washington. Sound Transit #1001 has just departed from the Tacoma Dome Station:
Ken your photo reminded me of something funny. Given my 200+ YouTube videos I have online the #1 most viewed is this one of all videos; no idea why...
I wonder if it is local interests? Perhaps people supporting the area transit efforts, using your footage as a reference.
It's "Black Friday," and I can't think of a blacker steam locomotive to try to photograph than Milwaukee Road 261. This is an oldie from the 1990s, back in Steamtown, but she is just about ready to run again after a long rebuild and some serious ownership issues. Thanks to Steve Sandberg and his great group of volunteers.
About 25% of the views have come from Colorado and roughly 75% are from within the US but I have even had a request for usage from BRIGADA of GMA News Channel in the Philippines that I granted. I have also detected major viewing from Canada and France for that little clip...
Yes, we are anxious here in the Twin Cities area for the 261 to start running again and are happy it will continue to call Minneapolis home.
