I am not sure I ever posted my track plan / layout plan of my home office layout. The office is 9x12 with the layout about 56" high built on hollow core doors around the walls. My computers and work bench areas are beneath the layout.

The layout is operational built with Kato Unitrack with Digitrax DS64 decoders controlling all turnouts. Currently I have a few structures complete with a few more to be built. There is zero scenery completed at this point as all attention has been on fine tunig rolling stock for this layout and the far in the future attic layout and for club use. Or in otherwords, I have been spending too much time playing and not enough actually working on the layout, though through running trains I have identified a few spots where I had to correct trackwork of fix picky turnouts (file down points). I have a few pictures but I have been relucntant to take many photos of the pink foam prairie :)

Here is a link to some youtube videos taken on the layout of locos I have sold. The viedos with the nice scenery are from a club I used to be a member of before joining a new upstart club.

Thanks for the comments, I really need to start taking some photos of the layout in progress (slow progress). I actually ended up not building the lift out section. The benchwork (hollow core door) is built as a lift out. But then I decided it was high enough that I can easily duck under it so the layout is built on that section as if it were standard benchwork. I still need to do a little more wiring to add the last Digitrax DS64 and tidy up the wiring. But instead I have been working on rolling stock replacing wheels and couplers, and building some building kits for the layout. Oh yea and runnig trains. In short, I have been doing everything but actually working on the layout. I like the layout for the space that was available but I do have a hard time getting real into it as I have much larger ambitions for the attic and the club layout. Much of my time has been spent on preparing rolling stock that will run on the future attic layout and the NMMRC club in Coon Rapids Minnesota.

The biggest issue with this layout is not enough staging. I can't operate the way I would have wanted to even for this small layout. It was a compromise to only have two staging tracks and this layout is certainly better than nothing and I am sure that I will still have many hours of enjoyment from it. It is just hard to settle for a Pinto when you have your mind set on a Mustang. :)

Don't feel too bad- I'm building a layout in a room 3 feet narrower than yours, and I'm also dealing with a small staging area. But since I'll run one train at a time most of the time, that's not too
big an issue. This layout is my learning space for DCC wiring and operations, as well as plans for a future layout I hope to build based on the southern half of Frisco's Central Division. It may be a Pinto, but at least it will get you there ;)
