Kato teases new NW2 release

NP unit looks real nice, but not for me. Let's have more Eastern roads, please. I know, beating the same old drum.

Still waiting for both numbers of the Rio Grande unit.
Either #7000, as delivered, or as #100, when renumbered by the DRGW.

 

I'd guess that after the first run of those three, others will likely come out. Being an old died in the wool SF fan, I'd like to see those, even if some roads didn't run the things. As for you eastern roads guys, I agree with you on the lack of some road names in the mix.

 

I might pick up the Burlington northern.

No SP&S? A travesty! However, I am willing to forgive and forget if a GN in BSB finds its way into the announcements....LOL!

 

I'll probably skip it...however 4 NW2s were rebuilt to NW12s, but all the NW2s were retired way before I model.

 

Wait for them to release it as a hideously overpriced "Kobo" custom job - just as with the RDC's.

 

Paint your own? It's not terribly hard. Rock Island is often overlooked except by Micro-Trains, and I have been forced to paint many of my locomotives. Sometimes you do have to start paint over multiple times before it is just right. But in the end the satisfaction from making my own was worth all the trouble and fussing during each and every project.

 

The NP is sweet. I should have gotten two when they did the Q. Just got one

 

Hey Brian,

While there aren't any listed right now, the CB&Q ones are available on "The Bay" fairly often. They're not giving them away, but if you're patient and shop around you can probably get the one you are missing for a reasonable price.

 

I wish they would do a later phase in this scheme.

Actually, it sold twice since CSX. Your shot is the way it looked after leaving CSX. Now (yek), it's in a gray and black scheme.

I'm in the process right now actually. The hardest part was finding the discontinued decals. I managed to get three sheets off ebay, I should be done in a day or two.
