I know uni-track is better but until they can make a flexible unitrack I am going to do it the old fashion way.............

I haven't checked lately ... but isn't there a general shortage of track right now? At least until spring?

Are you thinking code 55 or code 80?

There are a number of good choices. I'm sure some of them advertise here :)

When I bought my Atlas Flextrack, I bought two boxes (200 pieces) from my LHS. I talked directly to the manager and his price was better than mail order. Give your LHS a shot at it. They like large special orders because they know it will not sit on their shelves.

A couple of weeks ago I picked up 25 pieces of Atlas flex and a box of Midwest cork from a business in Brooklyn NY. Ordered them online. I placed the order on a Monday and it arrived on Wednesday evening.

I have been told by a few that cork roadbed is in (or will be in) short supply due to some cork disease that is stopping future production for a while. Of course, that could have been some LHS trying to ensure a sale. I still see boxes of it in most LHS.

No track problems other than Atlas C55 No 10 RH turnouts, which are scarce as dinosaurs right now.

When I acquired track and cork for a new layout earlier this year, it ended up that I went to about four different suppliers in total to get what I needed.

Will confess to a moral crime of sorts on the roadbed....I found some at an multi hobby LHS, and took a full box to the counter, with an inexperienced clerk. He rang up the whole box at $0.99 based on the bar code, but it was supposed to be $0.99 per piece in the 25 piece box. Given my expenditures, I didn't correct him....

I'm with dstjohn on checking with your Local Hobby Shop [a Locally Owed Mom & Pop establishment] (not HOBBY LOBBY or HOBBYLAND)) and see what kind of price they could throw your way for a case of Flex-Track & Cork. Maybe offer a down payment for an incentive? My LHS can meet almost every online price around and gives me a discount to boot!!!

I'll debate you on the "uni-track is better" statement. To get more realistic trackwork, you use flex-track. To get even more realistic trackwork, you HAND-LAY.

Wish I had some spare money right right now. I know of someone locally with 50 sticks of Atlas C80 FS. Argh.

Does anyone know the status of when Atlas code 80 flex track will be back in stock? I'm looking for at least 100 pieces.

    Thanks,

    Cody
