Picked up an HO scale Atlas S2, which I plan on repainting in Frisco or Northeast Oklahoma colors. It is a 2005-series release, built in China, and when I took off the long hood I saw a PC board atop the weights & motor. Looks like a decoder install will be a hard-wire project, which I don't mind trying. Question is- what type decoder would I need? I'm not interested in sound at this point, although I can see there's enough room in the bac to put in a speaker should I go that route. But to keep the cost down, a simple decoder is all I need.
