Something about that place. After spending time there during WWII, my father always wanted to go back again. Never made it....
As I am the Exhibition coordinator for the Toowoomba, QLD show, I will be happy to provide free entry to anyone that wishes to bring mine over personally, saves me postage, saves you an entry fee, win/win all round. Though it would mean waiting till June, I think I would rather have it a bit earlier than that and postage is still more economical than collecting it personally. If any Train Boarders are here in sunny downtown Toowoomba, Qld, Australia June 1st and 2nd, come along to the 2013 Toowoomba Model Train Exhibition, I will look after you, just ask for Teditor.
Here's another update: The last two days have been long for me so I have been unable to pack but I will be getting a few out tomorrow night and we will keep the wheels turning. Thanks again for your patience. Charlie
My mom was stationed there as an Army Nurse during the war. She was able to go back to visit in 1988 when she and my dad booked passage on a container ship out of Long Beach. They were gone for many weeks but had a great time at sea and stopping at New Zealand's North Island and South Island before heading over to the West Island, opps, I mean Australia. The ship called on Sidney and Brisbane, both of which my mom visited during the war.
My car arrived this morning... and it looks awesome. It's a little towards the end of my time period, but I will throw it into operations anyway. Very pleased.
WoooHooo got 1 of 2 today looks great. Got the shipping notice on number 2 today as well so I will put up some pics when it comes in.
Yeah, I'm sorry that I didn't notice that one. I am checking for double orders but I missed that one until I packed the second one.
Wow!! I won! Couldn't figure out why I got two in the mail. Now I know. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Michael Carnell Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
No need to apologize, it's like Christmas two weeks in a row! You are doing awesome keeping it all straight.
Sorry couldn't wait. had to open it and place it on the rails. Wow does my track laying suck! What I thought was level track had this car rolling with good speed. Obviously I am a newb to all this so the pics are just a boring oval layout for now. As you may notice in my pictures best cars go to the front of the train!
INTERNATIONAL FOLKS: I have ordered a scale online and it should be here first of the week. As soon as it gets here I will get these International ones moving. Charlie
Sorry for the delay folks. I am going to get the rest of these going and you International customers will be getting an invoice soon for your shipping as I have purchased a shipping scale and have it handy here so we are moving forward in getting your cars to you. Charlie
UPDATE: All International customers have been sent an invoice via PayPal for the additional shipping costs. This was a learning experience but it seems good. So, those will go out as paid (3 cars already going out to International customers tomorrow morning) and all other domestic orders will also be shipped ASAP. Thanks very much folks! Charlie
UPDATE: I've had a few inquires from folks asking why they ended up at the end of the line and I apologize for the slow shipping this past week. I've been suffering with a touch of the flu but I am back to work and much better now and as you can see the number of cars ordered and the number of cars shipped are not vastly different now. I am going to get those numbers to match this coming week, and then for those that have not ordered yet, when people order one of the remaining cars, it will ship (normally) within 24 to 48 hours. Thanks again for your patience and your support! Charlie
