I and many others used to communicate back and forth with an older member named Watash until he passed..Mr Dudler and he probably held the No.1 and No.2 positions for me and probably many of you as being the greatest MRRing and prototype experts ever encountered..Watash had long fables of RRing and family train related stories. Wolfgang simply nailed all the technical as well as scenic and operating fassets of our hobby...How I envied this seemingly natural talent and prowess he had..I had no idea until today he was ill..I'm truly shocked !! .. These hoggers have now joined John Allen in railroading heaven. auf wiedersehen Vulfie..
I would like to also pass along my deepest condolences to his family. Long before I became a member of this forum, Wolfgang's layout and website was a huge inspiration to me. I had exchanged emails with him a few years ago and learned and was inspired so much just from those. I can only hope one day my modeling will be half as good as his. -Chris
Always hard to lose a comrade. All the best to his friends and family...and for the rest of us, a hard reminder that life is indeed finite. Run trains while you can, and enjoy!
Wow. What sad news for us. Wolfgang was a fine modeler, and a good example for us all. He will most certainly be missed. I wonder if there is any way we could help preserve his website(s)?
A sad day, yes, but he suffers no more. High greens and clear track, Wolfgang......we'll miss you.
This is very sad news. He was a marvellous modeller and very helpful. I'll be having WD Industries or similar on the layout.
Sad news indeed. Farewell Wolfgang - you were a great modeller and an inspiration to many, and will be missed.
He was a great modeler and wonderful person. I never knew him personally, just through TB. He will be missed. My sympathies to his family and close friends. High greens old friend.
I am very sorry to learn of this sad news. He was an amazing and inventive modeler. My sympathies to his family and friends but I hope they know how significant his influence was and how much he was respected. md
We've lost a great friend of our hobby. His work and photographs were always worthy of careful study. He spent so much time sharing his techniques with all of us, too. Auf Wiedersehen to a good friend I never actually met.
You will be missed my friend. Condolences and heart felt prayers go out on behalf of the family and friends. I'll bet he's putting together hand laid switches for some club...somewhere!
I had no idea of his illness and I am saddened by his passing. Prayers for his family. I enjoyed watching his blog and videos of his Westport Terminal and his work and tips were an inspiration for us all. I will probably letter an undecorated boxcar I have for the WT.
My sympathy goes out to Wolfgang's family and his many friends. I only knew him from his prolific modeling work and know that there will be a great void left by his passing. Sad news for us all. Woodie
Wolfgang, thanks for your inspiration and kindness. May you have fun in the great Roundhouse over there. RIP Michael
Highball, Wolfgang You will be missed. Prays to the family left behind. His pass card will have a special place now.
