    Howdy all.

Loren and I are still on the road...someplace in the middle of nowhere Nevada...)

We announced new releases at the show and thought I would share them with everyone.

We don't have release dates yet but I will post them as we get thew schedule shaped up.

89' PS Hycube Boxcar with the four different door options
    ACF Heavyweight Baggage Car
    Lightweight Observation Car (boat tail)
    Offset Coupla Caboose... steel side
    SW 1500 switcher.
E8...on hold until we get China squared away...

Thanks again for all those who made it to the Z Con in Denver this past weekend. It was a hoot.

    Cheers

the 89' boxcars should be 86' cars.

Also, can we get SW1500s and SW1000s in N scale please

Yes, and this mean a probable CN switcher too…..Yesssss!

Joe, forgot to say, you’re a real cool guy, and if we didn’t have been thrown out because they were closing the banquet room, I would still be there siting on my chair listening to all your stories.:bear-cute:

Does this mean that the SW1500 will not be made in China? Also, will this be DCC ready/ compatible?
Too bad the Chinese government doesn't allow one to remove their own tooling out of the country. This China situation is taking ages to get squared away....

    Cheers,
    Ajay

I can't wait for the Hycube boxcars! I have been wanting these for some time. Very cool on the SW1500 and offset coupla cabooses. It just gets more and more exciting to be in Z!

For those who missed the convention, the next one is in 2 years! They are definitely worth the trip.

Wonder how wide the hood will be?

Hopefully not too wide. With the shorter wheelbase it will be very apparent if the hood were the same width as the MTL GP35. It is not as apparent on the SD40-2, due to the added length of the body.

i believe joe said the switcher will be made "in house". some china parts may be needed, but the whole unit will not be built there. it will also have SW trucks as an option. joe described how he got the flywheel on too. width? that's a good question. but at least it's on the drawing board!

Is the SW switcher a typo, or are we really getting an SW1500 switcher in Z? Am I in the N Scale forum? [IMG]

Not to steal the thread, I am going to open one for AZL new releases. I will talk about the heavy weights there.

I am pushing for the East Coast in 2 years!

Dang. CB&Q had Thrall high cubes not PS :( Now if you made some of the 40 foot baby cubes, this would make the short radius guys happy, the bridge and tunnel guys, not so much, the Midwest guys VERY happy. On another happy note, the German Post lady just gave me my new CB&Q coal hoppers and I am VERY VERY happy with them. Need a runner pack of these things Joe!

Just some thoughts regarding the switcher design:
Using etched metal hood sides might help in getting the width acceptable, that way they can also easilly convert the hood to SW1000. Furthermore it would require a modular hood cover, to be able get rid of one stack and insert a smaller air intake.
