Hi, I am looking for some historical videos of around Northeast Pennsylvania. More specifically near or around Wilkes Barre and Scranton PA. Also along what is now Reading and Northerns trackage. There was one video on the show called "Trains and Locomotives" on RFD TV that showed D&H running on what I think was LVs trachage through West Minister which is now R&N trackage. I would like to see action in and around Hudson yard and from Hudson Yard to Scranton PA. It doesnt matter what railroads they are, I just want to see some older railroading action around my home town. I thank anybody that can help me!:tb-smile:
A couple of videos that I might suggest may help you... "Steam in the '50s" and "Classic Steam of the '20s through the '40s" both by "Green Frog" Charlie
Just for fun, try searching through YouTube. There is an amazing amount of stuff stashed all over that site.
Boxcab: I have searched youtube alot already. It is mostly modern stuff. I did find a video of the Laurel Line at the station in Wilkes-Barre though. You would think with all the different railroads here and many industries and yards that there would be more.
"You would think..." I know the feeling. Some things just do not seem to be found. If on the 'Net, etc, apparently they are well hidden.
There was enough tracks around here to get a section in the Trains magazine. Wherever I go when in the residential parts and wooded areas all I see are railbeds. I should check Estate sales. You never know, somebody might have film labeled "Trains" or something like that. Wilkes-Barre must be the least railroad photographically documented areas around.
RRfan, try searching for Ed Kaspriske, and OhWell Videos. Ed is a horn enthusiast and has been railfanning the northeast for years. He may have some of what you are looking for. :tb-biggrin:
Just a quick search & a guess or two...try this link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7-B7j4uB8M ...or this one (tagged to Pennsylvania): http://www.youtube.com/results?sear...0.398223.12.12.0.0.0.0.379.2569.1j3j7j1.12.0. and look through the menu of related videos...you're almost sure to find something you'll enjoy (I Hope !) Yes, I have heard of ED and Horns inc. I like all those PRR videos but Im not really looking for youtube videos. Well if it is older videos of Luzerne, Lacawanna, Potter county (or any around there) counties. Im looking for more along the lines of full length DVDs. Thanks for the youtube search though. Spent a wile looking at some PRR steam.
