Paragon2 Sound

[h=5]I have this engine on order: EMD E6A, UP #995, w/ Paragon2 Sound/DC/DCC. Does anyone have an engine with this sound. How is it? I know sound is still in its infancy for 'N' scale but thought this might be the best there is to offer at the present time. Your thoughts please.

Probably the best sound in N scale in my opinion. The new E6's are supposed to have improved pick up which should be another plus compared to the first release. You will probably have to turn the sound down because it is too loud. I like my E8's (first run) a lot but they would benefit from better pick up.

 

i have a bli e8/9 with paragon2 sound. this sound decoder is simply a class of its own.

 

Agreed on the sound, the BLI Alco PA's that I have, the sound is best factory sound that I've heard, deep,
throaty engine sound. Whatever BLI Paragon2 did to get that sound, they did it right.

I also have the E8 Paragon2 EMD 567's those sound great too.

Both locos suffer from the afore-mentioned pickup problems. So the fact that BLI supposedly fixed that this
time around will be welcomed.

 

I have the E7. I haven't heard any other N scale sound, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I'm extremely happy with it. No pickup problems. Thinking of getting one of those classy E6s myself!

I have BLI E7s and PA's. Love 'em. I'll probably buy a pair of E6's, although I don't really need them. What's the expected release date?

I was told it was Shipping from China next week. Should be in distribution in May.

 

I have MRC, Digitrax, Soundtrax Tsunami, LokSound 4.0, LokSound select along with the BLI PA1. The Paragon 2 sound is far superior. Wish I could purchase it separately for other installs.

I own 10 of them. Sound is excellent. As mentioned it's loud, but easily turned down to suit your personal preferred level. All 10 run really well. I recall if you registered the warranty on line, BLI gave you 2 year warranty. BLI support is very good. No trouble calling them up for assistance. I'd gladly buy more.

I also have an AB set - and there is nothing really close except my Walthers Y.

 

I just watched some videos with engines with Paragon 2, and to me it sounds even better than Loksound, Soundtraxx, and don't get me started about MRC. So Paragon 2, if you could get than you should cause it's awesome.
