You people need to get out of the nscale forums. We've been talking about these for weeks up in the NS forum on this very website.

I do like the "Southern' but in truth I won't be buying any except for the standard NS black and white. I'll admit I'd be tempted by a Baltimore and Ohio blue / gold passenger scheme.

However NS will never do a B&O unit, being that's CSX now.

And OP, you started this thread about when are we gonna get this unit in N shortly after the unit came out of the paint booth. Its gonna take a bit of time, but I'd bet FVM and Kato both have these units in the works

Wait, there are other forums on this site.... ;)

I think I visited the Conrail forum once and there were like three topics in there and a bunch of crickets...

It looks like the Original NS drawing is a SD70ACE.

That's a fallen flag forum. The current railroad forums get a bit more active. Not nscale forum active...

Im just hoping warren will bring some class back to the BNSF and get rid of this orange poo we have sprayed on these engines. Im ready to see him dawn the red and silver to our units. After all, it is only the most recognized paint scheme of all time....................

I'll agree. With the current "Swoosh" scheme, they went from Absolute First Class (red/silver SUPER-FLEET Warbonnet) to Trailer Trash in 9 short years! I won't even buy a current scheme loco!

1: that orange poo, in particular on heritage 1 & 2 when paired with the green is a Great Northern paint scheme plain and simple. No amount of cross hearalds and cigar bands will change that. When you here people grouse about wanting BNSF to do a GN heritage unit you should smack them.

2: I agree why they would ditch the single most popular paint scheme to ever run the rails in favor of that GN poop with just enough changes to annoy everyone is beyond me.

3: all said in jest of course... except for the slapping, more railfans and modellers need to be slapped just on principle. :D

I see trains more than most as i work for BNSF but its a site for sore eyes when a train comes into view with a pure red nose.

Last time I checked, BNSF was a new RR...I think we should dump the red and silver and go back to green and black...

Seems to be the ATSF modelers/fans keep forgetting about the BN in the BNSF...and if we look at the merger, BN took over ATSF, so why the logos were old ATSF ones with ATSF inspired paint in beyond me.

If it's a new railroad, then why should they go with green and black? Also, bn fans are just as demanding on paint schemes. As for who took over whom. BN the corp may have taken over, but the company decided to put the ATSF guys in charge.

In either case, paint schemes are about marketing and brand recognition and the Warbonnet is the most well known paint scheme ever and therefore, from a marketing perspective is the best.

This is a discussion forum on the internet dedicated to discussing trains, railroading, modeling, fanning and any other aspect of these related hobbies. This is a perfectly valid place to discuss what we wish BNSF would do.

So back to the topic, I'm definitely looking forward to some N scale manufacturer producing these. Not at all close to my era, but I would pick some of them up anyway just for those occasions when I have guests over running trains. I, of course, would like to see the Erie, but I bet the NKP, NYC, and Wabash are going to look awesome when they're done. The DL&W and LV look pretty cool too!

Here is the third heritage scheme to be released, Nickel Plate Road.

Another fine addition. NS has really upped the bar with these retro paint schemes.
