Just want to share some pictures from a new Car I've got from Paul Mack. It's a pulley for a Drawbridge. He describe the following: I made a master of half of it from a piece of turned aluminum for the rim, laser cut acrylic for the spokes and K&S tubing for the axle. I molded it, cast it twice, added some internal bracing, painted it, glued it together and stuck it on a flat car with a little bracing, a quick evening project. Original picture:
That's incredible.. Amazing detail. Do you have any other shots of that locomotive? It looks phenomenal!
I did something like that a few years ago. I cannot find the prototype photo similar to this photo, on line. The only photo I have seen is in a book and the photo is copyrighted. Circa 1901 A crank shaft for a huge two cylinder stationary steam engine. For the Wabash Railroad. Never did find the proper decals and eye site does not permit doing decals anymore even if I could find the decals. Rich
Jürg, I wish it had been a quick evening project but it really took a few weeks. Just painting the flatcar deck took me two lunch hours. It still looks good on your layout.
Incredible! Not to ignore the subject of the photos themselves - the detail is phenomenal - but the lighting in the photos really pumps the realism off the chart. How did you do your lighting? Looks like it's really in the outdoor sun.
