Hi guys, We just posted announcements for the first paint schemes on our new transfer cabooses. This is the third of our 5 new caboose body styles: www.bluford-shops.com Enjoy, Craig Bluford Shops LLC.
Hi Craig WEEEE....Doggies... I'll Have to get me one of those GN Ones.. Thanks for Producing a GN One Larry
Good thing I haven't started on my kitbash of the GN one yet. Time to find another kitbashing project.
Iwant to support Bluford, but I am not sure if I should buy it, since I have not founda picture of it out here on the Sunset
If you don't have a favorite local dealer (any hobby shop can order it from us or from our distributors Walthers and Portman) then try one of the big mail order dealers like Wig-Wag or Feather River (to name 2 in the Western US.) As for SP #1 on the Sunset, it seems to have gotten around as we have pics of it in Dunsmuir, Utah, Roseville, LA, and even in Oklahoma. As for Undecs, we are taking pre-orders on all 3 caboose variations in Undecorated. #21000 is the MP style bay window car with the long roof. #22000 is the SP#1 style bay window car with the short roof. #24000 is the transfer caboose with the short roof (announced this week.) Great news on these transfer cabooses. Got my fingers crossed that a future run will have Penn Central and Pittsburgh & Lake Erie roads offered. Don
Craig- What is the prototype caboose for the transfer caboose? It looks VERY similar to the GN but is different. The main difference is the location of the brake wheel and the lack of the gussets on the ends of the sills. I also think the caboose body might be a little long. All in all it looks GREAT! I was just curious what the prototype cab was? Ryan
Yeah, the GN cars were exeedingly strange. They were actually built on the frames of retired VO-1000's! Our car is one of 5 versions of caboose we are working on with a very accurate model of the Missouri Pacific version with the long roof and bay window being the flagship. The other 4 variations use the frame from the MP car. Yes, we would like to do Rock Island as well. It looks like all their transfer cabooses had wood bodies with outside braces so assuming we do RI, it would differ pretty markedly from the prototype RI cars. Would be fun though... Craig
Craig, That is even greater news!!! These will fill a void in the N-Scale market and my caboose roster. Thank you!!!
