help on diesel engine shells

worst that could happen did , broke 4 plastic clips that hold shell to frame on athearn ac4400 ( bnsf green ) . will a c44 - 9w (athearn ) fit the ac4400 . the only reason asking i can find the c44 shell but not the ac4400 . quick response would be appreciated , not finding anyone on the other forums who can answer question and i found someone who has 2 of the cw44 .

That should work, but if I might ask, why not just use it without the tabs?
That couplers are attached to the frame right? So the shell is really just siting their looking pretty. As long as it is staying upright the clips aren't really needed.

 

thanks for the quick reply has decoder and doesn't sit down ( need tape ? ). nose heads up so need tabs . what couplers would work well with this engine ?

thanks for the help yoho , i had also sent email to athearn about shells and they also confirmed what you said . c44-9w shell on the way , but as stated earlier thank for your help and knowledge.
