Does anybody know when Deluxe Innovations Maxi-IV-Stacks are due to hit the shelves? I know Dave had some setbacks and moved... Just curious.. I've been waiting for these for awhile..
I know Dave monitors this board and I'm replying mainly to "bump" the topic in hopes of some accurate info. He did update us in early January as I recall...but a lot can happen in six weeks. (edited) Make that two months; his last post was December 13. At that time he was hopeful they would get out before the Chinese New Year but I think if they had they would be about ready to ship...time on the water and then to New Jersey would be about five weeks IIRC...I'm sure when he has some firm info he'll let us know.
I have Kato's but their detailing is pretty clunky compared to what DI's should be. And if there's a trouble spot in your trackwork, those Katos will find it! And joining the cars together in their way is way too complicated.
Yea-I agree with the hook up--that's why I'm waiting to see what their new design is. They have announced that those sets to be delivered in January would have a new hook up arrangement. I quit buying these cars cause I gave up on the hook-up.
I'm really really hoping for DI to get back to their glory years. I know they've had a very tough road to travel the past few years.
Yeah I have to agree about the way the Katos attach to each other.. After breaking a couple I just leave mine in there boxes. Figure I'll unload mine when the DI units come out..
I really wish them luck. I just got the Intermountain monthly mailing. They distribute Deluxe. All Deluxe products except a couple of box cars ate TBD. I know they brought some containers back to the US for manufacturing. The price was a couple dollars more than the Chinese ones. I would gladly pay a little more for "Made in USA" I hear it's difficult to find companies and people in the USA capable of doing the assembly work.
I went to DI's site and checked on the reservation forms - the MAXI IVs are mostly showing March 2012, and the sheet was updated January 26...that's the most up to date I've seen.
Yea, but that is the umpteenth time they have set a new delivey date. I've given up on their delivery dates. When or if they ever show up, I will be interested in getting some.
I shot Dave an email and this was his response... The truth is we don’t have delivery dates yet. The Maxi-IV needs tooling upgrades to work right with the BLMA trucks and that work won’t be completed until March. The Trinity hasn’t been tooled yet, we just can’t do two at once under these circumstances. I will post something on Trainboard Sunday evening. I've had the NKP covered hoppers on order well over 2 years now. Deluxe site shows delivery date is "Unknown". Maybe we can get an update on these cars tonight too. If the project is dead, kindly tell us. Keith
