Depending on whether a pre-order counts my latest is either the Atlas S2 with sound that I just ordered, or the additional unitrack and couple Intermountain covered hoppers I bought just over a week ago. Now I need to buckle down and decide on a layout and start the tablework/foam and get some more track.

I got a lot of "F" this and a lot of "F" that from Kato and Intermountain. A couple of years ago when Bachmann did the S4 units I was full of "S".... and expect to be full of "S" again when Atlas releases the second run of S2 units.

Hope you understand how I'm feeling about the hobby right now... ;)

One of the e-tailers whose website I visit regularly has been offering some English vehicles from Oxford die cast. I like them because of the earlier era that most American prototype vehicles I have found that are already finished.
I ordered a few today. They listed as 1:148 scale, but my calculations indicate that makes them about 1.08 times the size of a 1:160 or US n-scale model. We'll see.

Finally got my purchases from the Helena fair and Jim's Junction sorted out. Picked up 5 UTLX tank cars by MT since the twenty on order form Intermountain may get here, eventually.......And got these Dimi kits at the fair, too. Jim's was good for the two boxcars and li'l folk.

That was a good score you got there! Those Vandy tenders are items long out of production by Tichy/Dimitrains.

Picked these up off of one of the Yahoo lists yesterday, a new trio of MKT F7s and an A-B set of Texas and Pacific F7s. I'll need to number and paint the Farr grilles for completion on all 5 units.

Those were the first items I noticed, for the same reason.

While not really a purchase, I "adopted" a 36 x 72 folding table from one of the landlord's previous tenants. May not sound like much, but I haven't had track down permanently for 6 years !!! I feel like Boxcab's goofy dancing banana !!! :)

That will make a great portable layout. Is it the kind that has adjustable legs and folds in the middle?
If it is... adhere a 1" extruded polystyrene foam to it and cut a slit at the fold. Then use Kato Unitrack and position the expandable tracks over the part that folds. You will need to be careful with any scenery you add to the layout.

I have mostly finished my acquisitions--especially of rolling stock--but yesterday I loosened the purse strings: Two orange circus cars, GN 18007 and 19038, and a dark green GN express boxcar with Glacier Park herald, GN 2510! Just couldn't help myself. With these purchases, have decided to backdate the layout to the late 50's.

Oxford Diecast vehicles are 1:148 scale, however that is about 1.08 x n-scale of 1:160.

    Note the detail!
These come on a platform and with a clear plastic top for display as a collection.
They are attached to the platform by a screw; some are removed from the platform.
I think they will look great on my future layout.

A $3 DPM Otis Auto Parts bldg that was horribly painted and put together. It is now striped and primered and turning it into a ¤¤¤¤¤Cat adult movie theatre. It'll be across the street from a Downtown Deco's "Kitty Korner" strip bar.

Finally tracked down some brass wire that is thin enough to make grab irons. (Detail Associates #2501 [0.006"] & #2502 [0.008"]). And I may have found the part I need for the radiator shutters on my LRC project.

For future reference, Tichy Trains also has phosphor-bronze wire with those diameters as well.
