UP GP35 that I installed a Digitrax Z scale decoder and added a 0603 LED strobe light to the top of the cab. Lightly weathered.... Does it need more weathering?? photo.jpg

Gonzo, I think the weathering is good. maybe a bit of dust on the trucks, but the carbody is fine. On a side note, is the carbody fully seated on the chassis? It looks off at the rear of the loco.

New BLI ATSF E6's. I love the simulated stainless sides and the shells are great. Need to figure something out for closer coupling, there's another hole to move the MT couplers further back but not enough for me. The shells don't want to sit level on the chassis either, the A units ride high in the front and the B is high in the rear.

Axian carry bag and boxes arrived the other day, 27 BLMA ARMN reefers and several locomotives are in hand (including an IM Cab Forward with decoder - yipee!), plus 4 BLMA 5-unit spine car sets are on in transit. :)

Etched metal car sides direct from maker Roberto Martari in Italy. Had to pay in Euros. Took 7 weeks to arrive.
quantity 1- item #60-170 Santa Fe partitioned coach (799-808)
quantity 1- item #60-171 Santa Fe coach (3000-3009) plated upper windows
These were among the most common prototype heavyweight passenger cars on the Santa Fe-- and the least available models in N scale.
Pecos River Brass imported a few. I have tried for four years to get one on eBay, one or two a year came up, but chickened out when the price went over $125.

I ordered as soon as I heard he was making them. I won't be able to think about assembling them until I finish my thesis, but I wanted to make sure I got them.

I will keep ya advised hows its going...if anyone is interested...thnxs.

    The price ...I cant say...its that obscene...LOL.

    Thnxs Rick...

The plan is to use unfinished sink base cabinets with either 1/2 or 3/4 inch plywood on top...from Lowes. This will bring the entire layout to just below the windows. The top panel of the base units will be hinged so they can drop down. These will then have all the electronics attached to the back for easy access. The plan is to have the layout both DC and DCC. ( I have a number of great running old locomotives that will cost way to much to convert to DCC). I have the 4 pole double throw for DC/DCC selection already working on my HCD in my bedroom. I'll just move it into the RV. The length is 20 feet behind the drivers seat and 16 feet on the door side. Its 90" across inside. The layout will be 32" width completely around. This will leave me a roughly 26" aisle....but I am usually the only one in there and I know I can negotitae the aisle...its the same as was in THE Trailer :)

More to come as work progresses :) :)

Got a cool little Bachmann Doodlebug off eBay. The older DC model. Plan on redoing in in SAL livery to represent the Boll Weevil that ran through Charleston.

Well I just got the new RailBox cars from ExactRail, way cool cars! And I also broke my rule on no more locos and bought the latest Amtrak anniversary P42 locomotives.

David, many years ago I almost bought an Overland set till I ran it on the layout. When Kato came out with the "bricks" I was hooked. I do not know how many I have. Bob.

Just got a couple of Union Pacific E6's (A and B) with Paragon2 Sound. Very impressive. Runs great and the sound is very close to HO. I highly recommend these engines. Will be getting more when finances permit.

Just ordered 3 pair of Bombardier trucks from Athearn for a project I'm working on. $7.98 a pair, $10.00 flat rate shipping (regardless of how much I ordered) Before that was a BNSF 3 bay hopper (was very difficult to find in the livery I wanted). I'm quite pleased with that little hopper. Probably paid too much: $19.95 at online auction, but I had to have it.

With a wedding right around the corner (in 2 weeks actually) my hobby funds have been slashed to almost nothing. With that being said, I informed my fiancee months ago about an upcoming purchase that I wanted to make and she told me no problem. So when I went to my LHS 2 weeks ago and the new FVM MILW ribside caboose was on the shelf, guess what? I ended up taking it home! And I must say, if you haven't seen one yet. They are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!
