I got a nice SD40-2 from Grant Eastman for some run-through power on my NS layout. Here is a shot of a NS intermodal train going across Coppers trestle. Thanks Grant. Scott
Yup! His deadlines are clearing to make roster room for more SD70MACs, IIRC. However, a set of D&RGW tunnel moptos will make a trek north to do some helper service testing, SAR-style....
I model the 1980's... That's why I have an upcoming GP30 in SAR for my pooled power roster. SD40-2's were among the latest and greatest, and were'nt likely to be sold off for newer power back then. Otherwise, I'd likely jump for a Deuce as well! You could add an older geep if you wanted, if he has any left. Ask!
Glad to see 294 made it out there Scott. It will be a little bit like a trip to Club Med. No more minus 40 temps and blizzards to contend with. Also gets a chance to stretch her legs on the main vs. grinding up and down the 2.2% in helper service over here. grant
...yeah and #293 is helping out down here on the YTRail hey Grant, I'm missing YTRail #6353 on this great picture...
I've always thought that to be such a believable, yet unique scheme! Any of those locos would fit right in on even the most true-to-prototype layouts. Russ
This seems like a great idea. How many people have power from other private name model RR companies, on their empire? I remember seeing McClelland and friends, (HO and N), doing it amongst their circle of affiliated companies. Grant- Got anything that would fit appropriately into the pre-mega-merger mid-1960's?
