I saw this listed today at Hobby Search in Japan. The only problems are that it appears to be neither DCC nor wallet friendly. (Click image for link) It kind of reminds me of the older RF Systems TC-9 camera system. (Below) The Morse Type S Wireless receiver is from RF Systems. (Click image for link) Andy Tetsu Uma
Why would you care if it's DCC? The camera runs off of a rechargeable battery, not track power. And if you don't like the price, get the components from a security camera supplier and hot glue it to a flatcar. -Mark
Have to agree with Mark on this one... Tomix also offers one, but, once again the cost... http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?105581-N-Scale-Camera-Car http://forum.atlasrr.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=14598 http://lordzox.com/mrr/camcar.html http://kimsartshop.com/CameraTrain.html
Wow!!! No way. Get a pinhole wireless camera and make one your self. At that price I could have made about a dozen or more of these. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?129266-Camera-car&highlight=camera+car Dave
I think the sentence "Not ※ DCC. Enjoy your existing power pack." could mean it's not DCC so you can use it with a regular power power pack rather than that it's not DCC compatible. Japanese sometimes suffers quite a bit in the translation to English, especially when it's done by a computer. This is from Hobby Search's model train blog, "Recently, instead of every Sunday 18:30 Sazae Vogue Jean A look that is a mound of shrimp paste." I wish they'd given a closer look at those instruction sheets. Still rather expensive though.
That part about not DCC friendly bothered me as well so I checked the original Japanese description. It says, "DCCではありません." and as rusty as my Japanese is, I know "DCC dewa arimasen" means that it doesn't have DCC which I take to mean that the model doesn't have DCC installed. Good call. I don't recall saying I want a camera train or that I have any desire to make one. I just posted about a product from a major manufacturer. What impressed me was the way the camera fits IN the model (antenna wire aside) without the "Hey, there's the camera car" effect. Andy Tetsu Uma
No, I'd probably get something like this if I were to do that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WADnriWzJes
Have the cameras shrunk again? When I built mine I had to strip half the case off the camera. Between the size of the camera the power converter I needed a Bi-Level Gallery Cab Car to fit it all in and make it look normal.
