Yes, nice build! And I agree, that's a great paint scheme! I couldn't find any history on the Indian Rock, was it a prototype short line?

i haven't forgotten about you all here i had some serious eye issues that i'm still working through as i got ultra fine metal dust particles in my eyes that are making it almost impossible to do any work on anything as i now have blurred vission if i try to focus on one spot for more thann a few minutes when that happens i have to take a break until my vision somewhat recovers what a pia and the docs are not sure i'll get rid of the fuzziness but lets hope it can be corected otherwise i'll be done modeling if it doesn't clear up

the black and ivory is going bye bye it takes to much work to mask it out and get it right so i'm going back to my original reefer yellow,bn green, and gn eb green which is shown in the following pics and please forgive the giant horribly oversized scale as that is what i started with this is my 1st IR&W unit that dates back to when athearn released the gp38-2 in 1982 i think so this paint scheme has history now i'm very happy with my N ormal scale units so take a look at this paint scheme and let me kow what you think as this will be the paint that will adorn the 1762 when i get there and yes there is writing on the nose it says wash me clean

okay i know it's been a while but i'm just getting over an eye infection that was caused by metal micro shavings so the work is slowly getting back on track these next pic's are of the 1762 with it's new long hood bell and replaced headlights to match the picture on rr-fallenflags.org under BN 1762 i still need to do some cleanup sanding on the lights but it's getting there

i still have work to do on this one but it's getting there and thanks for being patient during my setback and that is a z 903 coupler

. CWW hate to be the bearer of bad news remembered what the beacons came from checked with atlas as the beacons are from the SD26 and was told out of stock and not to hold my breath so take it for what it's worth it really sucks when you find what you need but can't get it

otay gang here is an update on the 1762 i had to rebuild the pilots as i didn't like the way my pilot buffers turned out so i just finished the rear pilot buffer i think it looks a lot better than before and still accepts the couplers so this 1st shot is a side view of the newew rear pilot buffer
    [IMG]
and here is the 3/4 angle of my new pilot buffer
    [IMG]
and here is the torn apart and getting ready to rebuild front pilot
    [IMG]
and the next post will have the new truck journals that i'm modeling per the prorotype picture of BN 1762 on rr-fallenflags.org

and this next pic also shows my scratchbuilt winter hatch along with the journals
    [IMG]
enjoy until next time i'll try to post more often but looking for work puts a damper on building

here are a couple of updated pics of the 1762 as it is now winding down i still have to build the pilot buffer on the front but the pilot buffer on the rear looks pretty good and i can still get the coupler mounted with no problems so here is the fornt of the unit first [IMG] and here is the rear of the unit [IMG] the side sill has been modified to somewhat match the proto pic on rr-fallenflags.org under bn 1762 the blue is floquil conrail blue with some black added to darken it also still need to readjust one of the scratchbuilt journals as it is off center and to high part of the perils of making stuff without specs still looks good to me though makes it a unique unit

Did you paint your wheels blue or is that just the lighting?

. As to the wheel color it is some light but mostly primer gray i was painting many units from light to dark colors when i got to the trucks i did not notice my wheel masks had fallen out hence the wheel color
